ILEAH WELCH, State Delegate, is a Staff Attorney at Legal Bureau of Buffalo, Inc. in the Attorney for Children Unit. Her work involves representing minors in abuse and neglect family court matters. She received her Bachelors of Arts from the University of Rochester, Juris Doctor from SUNY Buffalo Law School and Masters of Business Administration from Canisius College.


Prior to joining Legal Aid, Ms. Welch worked for Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. as a staff attorney providing legal services to individuals and families with HIV/AIDS and a mediator for several programs with Child and Family Services, Center for Resolution and Justice.


In addition to her participation with MBAWNY, she serves on the Board of Directors for Bethel Head Start, Inc., a Tri-chair for Health and Human Reproduction Committee of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and member of the Financial Resource Committee of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York. Ms. Welch is also an instructor of Communications and Law at SUNY Buffalo Law.
