Judicial Candidate Ratings 2020
Download the Judicial Candidate Questionnaire
WBASNY WNY’s Judiciary Committee is preparing to rate judicial candidates for the 2020 election. The Judiciary Committee considers four categories of criteria: judicial temperament; legal reasoning ability; experience for the position sought; and commitment to women’s issues and community issues. Ratings for each of these categories are based upon a candidate’s questionnaire, personal interview, writing samples, and survey responses from our membership regarding their professional experience with each candidate. In order to receive a rating, a candidate must complete all aspects of the process. A candidate who is campaigning in this election who chooses not to participate in our process will not be rated, however, our press release will indicate that the candidate was invited to participate in our ratings process and declined to be rated.
Candidates are invited to send the completed questionnaire, signed consent forms and three writing samples, to:
Sharon A. Swift, Esq., WBASNY Judiciary Committee Chair, 9315 Roll Road, Clarence Center, New York 14032
The above materials must be received on or before Monday, April 6, 2020.
Interviews are scheduled to take place in the evening on April 28, 2020 and April 29, 2020 at
Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria LLP, 42 Delaware Avenue, Suite 120, Buffalo, New York 14202.
Interviews will be scheduled in the order that applications are received.
