Survey - Caregiving Responsibilities Among
Legal Professionals in the Age of the Pandemic

Women lawyers are no strangers to facing challenges and exceeding expectations.  Women have overcome countless obstacles to become recognized leaders in the legal profession.  Women have gained access to law school and prestigious clerkships after years of being denied consideration.  We continue to challenge cultural resistance and implicit gender bias our workplaces today.
However, a mere 40 years after the first woman was appointed to the United States Supreme Court, women in the legal profession face an unprecedent crisis.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, professional women are being faced with stunted careers, constricting opportunity, and added pressures on an already tenuous “work-life-balance.”  Some studies place 100% of all Covid-19 related job loss on the shoulders of women, and the legal profession is not immune to these forces.
The Western New York Chapter of Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York needs to hear from you!  We have crafted a survey to find out exactly how the pandemic has hit our WBASNY membership at the local level.  Your responses will be the imperative data and context we need to develop programming and initiatives to serve the needs of working women during this unprecedented era.  WBASNY is committed to advancing women in the context of the legal profession, and we need you to assist us in achieving those ends by responding to this short survey.  We deeply thank you for your participation.
