KARA M. EYRE, Local Director, Co-Chair Working Parents Committee, is a Senior Associate at Gibson, McAskill & Crosby, LLP, where her practice includes the defense of negligence matters, including municipal liability, medical malpractice and nursing home defense, and premises liability. The primary focus of Ms. Eyre’s practice is the defense of physician, hospitals, and medical institutions in complex medical malpractice lawsuits. She also handles appellate matters on behalf of her clients.
Ms. Eyre is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She received her Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was an Articles Editor for the Cardozo Public Law, Policy & Ethics Journal. Ms. Eyre is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York.
In addition to her membership of the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, Ms. Eyre is also a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie County, and the Defense Trial Lawyers Association of Western New York.
Ms. Eyre has consistently been recognized as a “Rising Star” for her work in civil litigation defense by Super Lawyers. Ms. Eyre was also honored as a 2020 “Up & Coming Attorney” for Western New York by The Daily Record.
Ms. Eyre has served as the Co-Chair of the Working Parents Committee for the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York since 2019. She is also an active member of the Membership Committee. Ms. Eyre is also the Board President of Lawyers for Learning, a local tutoring organization that provides instruction and enrichment for students at Buffalo Public School 18. Ms. Eyre has been the Board President of Lawyers for Learning since 2018 and has been a member of the Board since 2016. Ms. Eyre is also an active member of the Smallwood Drive Elementary Parent Teacher Association.
